Boys and Tractors!

My son is very "boy". He loves cars, trains, airplanes, and of course tractors. So, when I found the book Driving My Tractor we had to check it out. The tune is very catchy (in a good way) and we love learning the names and sounds of the animals with such a fun song. In addition, the "teacher" side of me is very happy with the fact that we can practice counting the animals on each page. :)

To say that we were THRILLED when this became an animated video would be an understatement. Check out the link below...I hope you enjoy the movie as much as Everett and I do!

Barefoot

Right now I am sitting in my kitchen typing away, and yes, my feet are bare!  I have to laugh, because though I am a lover of barefeet, I also LOVE the feel of a new pair of soft socks on my toes, especially here in Minnesota.  So, to me, "barefoot" describes an overall sense of being happy and feeling free, like a child again, more so than actual naked toes!

I decided to start this blog to share some of my expansive, and sometimes random, knowledge about educating children through play, activities, and books, teaching yoga to children, and being a mother.  What makes me an expert?  Well, I never feel comfortable with the word "expert", but my knowledge has grown from my background as an elementary school teacher with my Masters of Education from the University of Minnesota, my certification as a YogaKids Teacher and Trainer, and my daily education from my son, Everett.

So, I hope you join me on this journey, pick up some inspiring ideas along the way, and spend some time barefoot with me!
